Come along to our photo sessions to dust off your camera and get snap-happy with a professional photography instructor.

Brush up on your camera skills and learn new photography techniques whilst on a photo walk class with other local keen photographers!

We run two hour photography sessions based on a photography theme/technique/style and they take place in various locations in Midland.

  • New to photography? We also run a popular 3 hour Beginners Guide to Photography Class once a month. And once in a while we will run special niche 3 hour classes, for example, Astrophotography - so do subscribe to our newsletter to know when the next on is!

  • Who can attend? Open to all skill levels, from beginners to keen amateurs. The photography instructor is there to help you with camera settings and provide any advice you need.

  • What to bring? We recommend bringing a camera that has full manual mode or semi-manual modes (Aperture or Shutter Priority). Compact cameras and smartphones also welcome!

The meeting point and full details for the day are sent in the booking confirmation email to the email address you provide at time of booking.

Join the Midland Photography Group on Facebook to share your photos after the session.

This is taken on the boardwalk over pass over highway 180 that connects the beach areas of the state park to the boardwalk hiking trail. The geometry of the shadows and sides of the boardwalk caught my eye and I love the way the photo came out.Shot on Nikon D5600 using a Nikon AF-P DX NIKKOR 70-300mm f/4.5-6.3G ED VRShutter: 1/800Aperture: f/6.3ISO: 100

I travel quite a bit for work throughout WTX, and I?m fascinated by so many dilapidated structures I see. I call them ?Ghost Structures?. This one caught my attention because of the condition of the building, its immediate surroundings with fallen trees, of which, one of them seemed uprooted by the recent strong winds. The dirt/sand?s red/orange coloration is incredibly beautiful and seemed to blend with the colors of the dilapidated remnants of the building. The gray skies provided great

After days of rain, a bit of sunshine brought Esquimalt Lagoon to life. I spotted this Hooded Merganser gliding through the calm water, and with the low afternoon light and its crest catching the glow, I knew I had to take the shot.

Title or Location: Amargosa Sand Dunes
This was taken at the amazing Amargosa Sand Dunes just a couple of hours north of Las Vegas. I have had this idea to capture the dunes from the air with my drone. To see what interesting shadows and shapes I could create from this different perspective. So I got up at 2:30am to make the drive out there before sunrise to find the best spot. I ended up finding these smaller sets of dunes that I could get high enough over to create the shadows and lines I was looking for. I actually didn?t see this
